WHERE’S THE OUTRAGE! Arizona Democrat ‘Wanted to Punch’ a Female Republican Senator ‘In the Face’ over a School Choice Bill…

Latino Democrat Congressman, Jesus Rubalcava, who resides in Arizona said he wanted to punch a female Republican Senator ‘in the face’ simply because she sponsored a bill that was going to give families more choice over the schools their children attend.

Congressman Rubalcava, said on social media that as Senate Bill 1431 was being sent to Gov. Doug Ducey for his signature “I wanted to punch her in the throat,” he wrote of Lesko, in response to a Facebook friend who had written that Lesko’s victory lap around the state Capitol “was slightly enraging.

Below is a screenshot of the Congressman’s appalling statement.

Sen. Lesko did respond to the Arizona Republic about Congressman Rubalcava’s heinous comments.

The more time I’ve had to think of this Rubalcava comment, it is kind of disturbing. I don’t know if the guy has violent tendencies, or what … The more I think about it, it is rather disturbing that someone would comment like that.

On Thursday, she wrote in a statement to the newspaper, “As a survivor of domestic violence from a previous marriage, Representative Rubalcava’s Facebook post saying ‘I wanted to punch her in the throat’ was very disturbing and totally inappropriate especially since he is an elementary school teacher and legislator. I hope in the future that he debates issues based on their merit in a civil manner.”

Congressman Rubalcava did eventually take down the posts and apologize on the floor of the House of Representatives.

And so, my comment, was definitely unprofessional, and it was unacceptable,” he said. “And I want this body to know that I have apologized to Sen. Debbie Lesko for my comment, and I sincerely apologize, I want this body to know.

But that didn’t stop some Republicans from openly calling for Congressman Rubalcava to be removed from office. Rep. Maria Syms, R-Paradise Valley, issued a scathing letter calling Rubalcava “unfit for public office”. Rep. Anthony Kern, R-Glendale, stated that there “should be zero tolerance for any violence against women.” Rep. Kern also called on the Democratic caucus to expel Congressman Rubalcava.

A spokesman for the state Republican Party also jumped into the fray by echoing Rep Maria Syms, stating Rubalcava is “unfit for office.” His words “reflect his character and severe lack of judgment,” wrote spokeswoman Torunn Sinclair in a statement.

“His apology got one thing right—his actions are unacceptable,” Sinclair wrote, adding that “in most jobs” his actions would result in termination.

She wrote he “should take greater responsibility for his actions. He should resign.”

The reason to “punch the throat” is, in essence, a serious attempt to kill. He should resign, or otherwise be removed for making death threats or expressing a desire to cause the death or serious injury to a fellow politician.

Punches to the throat have several different areas of concern.

A full strike to an unprotected throat may crush the larynx. Following the strike, the airway will close. CPR is not possible. Only surgical opening of the airway, a tracheotomy, and prompt medical attention will save the individual.

A moderate strike might break the hyoid bone. Although not as immediate, the airway can swell and close. Again medical intervention is needed.

A properly executed finger tip strike may cause laryngeal spasms. These are spasms of the vocal cords. They may be short in duration or may last up to an hour. First aid is to extend the neck as you would in CPR except pull slightly more to hyperextend the neck. Oxygen is next and medical treatment might be required.
